Bandcamp Friday is coming up this week so trying to flip the switch and upload more bandcamp beauties, starting with this gem out on Shadeleaf music record label run and curated by Thatmanmonkz, an ace label and well worth checking out.
This particular release is by Sky Covington under her pseudonym Nikki O, a Detroit based artist who won the coveted Motor City’s Jazz Vocalist of the year award in 2019 and 2020 and best known for classics on Mahongani Music, alongside the likes of Moodymann. The album is titled 'Rough, Rugged, Raw' and is a gorgeous mix of disco, funk and soulful vocals.
